Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog game was created by Sega in 1991 for Sega Genesis and not for the NES which is Nintendo Entertainment System. Nonetheless, there are ports and homebrew that are made by fans for the NES. Some examples include “Somari”, which is a game that emulates Sonic’s mechanics but with Mario as the main character and “Sonic the Hedgehog for NES” which is more accurate to the title but an unlicensed homebrew game by Sega and Nintendo and as such has to be played on the NES and therefore performs and looks worse than most games on the Sega Genesis. These unofficial adaptations can be found in places such as retro gaming forums and emulation websites.
