The fourth game in the Zelda series is different in its setting and is no longer placed in Hyrule. Following a terrible storm devastating the ship he boarded, Link is carried to Koholint Island. He wakes up looking at a beautiful woman attending to him. It is a large island with a climbing mountain that has a giant egg at the top; the island houses the yet unexplained Wind Fish. When Link listens to the tribe, he learns that waking the Wind Fish will unveil the island’s mysteries, thus kicking off another mission.
The gameplay once again returns to the top-down view that was present in the SNES version, although there are short side-view sections in the dungeons that involve platforming. A link has to visit seven temples to acquire the musical instruments necessary to wake the Wind Fish. While moving around the island, one has an opportunity to find animated treasures and things that are significant to his advancement. These new items open up new sections of the game, in which Link can progress more in his quest. Fighting occurs with blades and uses his sword and objects he gathered within the game world. Every instrument is played by a powerful temple boss that Link has to slay to fulfill the game’s main objective – to wake up the Wind Fish.
